Mission Minutes from September 2, 2009
Meeting was called to order by Mission Leader, Bob Shouse. Present were: Bob Shouse, Bill Cook, Connie Bensyl, Reba Osborn,
Rhonda Hardy, Bob & Ann Ellis, Geri Barney
Special speaker: Jane Bowers from Friendship Circle (Senior Citizen Center) Jane gave us the rundown on the Senior Citizen
Center...when it was started, etc. Some special highlights are:
The Mission Team asked Jane at the end of her presentation what we could do to assist the center. It was suggested that we do a
benefit with entertainment and food with all monies going to the center. We will shoot for March to do this.
Connie Bensyl then updated us on our other missions.
Bob & Ann Ellis have been working the first of each month at the Food Pantry in Veedersburg. The Missions Team will pass out "Food
Pantry" bags to our church to be filled and taken to the pantry. The pantry is open on Thursdays from 1 pm to 6 pm. All donations of
food and money are appreciated.
There being no further business, meeting was adjourned.

- Kitchen feeds between 750 to 1000 meals per week.
- They serve breakfast 2 days per week (part of stimulus package) through 2010.
- They have an annual budget of $40,000 per year which includes the director's salary.
- Resale room brings in about $10,000 a year.
- A benefit is held in October of each year to help with funding. All monies are raised locally.
